About

I am a food cum health writer and nutritionist. Food is my first love, but my weight woes force me to make that love a more calorie conscious and nutritious one. Nutrition is a fascinating science in its nascent stages – we put men on the moon before we knew that transfats were bad for us. This science is evolving with new studies everyday – some helpful, others sponsored and with little merit.

Having grown up in Boston and then migrating to Pune, India, my palate has evolved over the years – I am older, wiser(well, older for sure), and appreciate a well cooked homemade meal.

Dealing with family experiences in anorexia, cancer and heart ailments has opened my eyes to the importance of the food we eat. Cooking at home is essential to live a healthy life, but unfortunately the nation is drifting towards making eating out and junk food the norm. More people should be cooking at home -- not as a chore but as an enjoyable experience. I hope this blog helps with this.

I am worried about the unhealthy foods people eat in our country and the lack of decent foods that healthy for students as well as travelers. I provide different takes on everyday ingredients, wholesome baking recipes, and trends/rants on food politics.

A sports enthusiast, I enjoy working with athletes and consult with Lakshya, an organization supporting India's rising sports persons.
